Contraception

There are many types of contraception so we will work with you to find one that suits your needs. Our Doctors and Nurses will be happy to give you information about contraception and all information is treated confidentially.

Please remember condoms are the only form of contraception that will protect you against Sexually Transmitted Infections.

You can also get information on all your options from the NHS Choices website http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/contraception-guide/Pages/contraception.aspx

The Morning after pill - This pill can be taken within 72 hours of unprotected sexual intercourse to reduce the risk of pregnancy but becomes less effective the later it is taken. Please make an urgent appointment with your GP.

If you are concerned that you may have a Sexually Transmitted Infection please contact your GP.

Alternatively there are some useful websites such as SWISH (Somerset Wide Integrated Sexual Health Service) who offer free confidential testing and treatment for infections http://swishservices.co.uk/

or there is more information available on the NHS Choices website http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/STIs/Pages/STIs.aspx
